(A) - A lone brigade of Austrians from III Corps was sent to probe towards Abensberg to safeguard the Austrian advance towards Abbach. Under General Thierry they were parcelled out in small detachments to guard the crucial approaches to the vulnerable left flank of Charles army. What they found was two divisions on Bavarians full of fight! Outnumbered and outgunned they atttempted to hold on for the duration of the day to halt any advance they might make to turn the Austrian left. The only reinforcements they would receive was a brigade of infantry from the V Corps. This scenario features an additional Austrian Division arriving during the action!
