21 August 1808 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head or Solo as the Allied player vs. the AI (see RSW-Solo.pdf for Solo play victory levels) - This action depicts the first part of the rearguard action at Karstula. The objective of the Russians was to turn the Swedish-Finnish army's left flank. The Swedes were deployed along a long front and the main attack of the Russians hit their right flank and caused them to recoil back over the river. A second assault caused them to retreat further. A small flanking movement was repulsed but the Swedish-Finnish forces had little zeal for a fight. Once the flanking column of the Russians started to arrive Ov.Lt. Fieandt had had enough and the entire force retreated to the north thus putting the rest of the Swedish-Finnish army in peril. The Russian flanking column is not used in this scenario as they arrived much later in the day.
