25 March 1814 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - The Battle of Fére-Champenoise was a running engagement pitting forces of Marmont, Mortier and Patchod's National Guard against cavalry forces of both the Hauptarmee from the south and the Army of Silesia from the north. The French forces were heading to Vitry to reinforce Napoleon. The Allied attacks forced them to cut off their march to the east and beat a hasty retreat to Sézanne. NOTE: a large hail storm came up during the day (approximately 3 PM) which rendered the muskets inoperable. Fire combat by infantry will be not be allowed during the storm.
