Coa River Encounter July 24, 1810 - Disregarding Wellington's orders to cross the river Coa to avoid contact with Ney's much large French army, the pig-headed Brig.Gen. Robert Craufurd held his ground and was forced to conduct a desperate fighting retreat back to the bridge with the French hot on their heels. In this variant, it is assumed that Picton's Third Division is sent to Craufurd's aid, as the Light Division commander later claimed to have requested.
