Turns: 15
Type: Custom
First Side: Axis
Second Side: USSR

Historical Overview: After three months of victories, the German Army launches Operation Typhoon with Moscow as the objective. Scenario Overview: This is an essential scenario to play before embarking on a campaign game. In Typhoon you will experience all four weather conditions, and both sides have the opportunity to attack and defend. The Axis player has 3 turns of clear to encircle the bulk of the Soviet forces, 4 turns of mud to get into position for 3 turns of snow to secure your objectives, then 5 turns of blizzard to hold them. The Soviet player must recover from catastrophic losses to form defenses that will keep the Axis away from their objectives, while building forces to launch the winter counter-offensive.

The weather is pretty rough for most of the game. I feel the scenario does what it is intended to do, get a taste of all the seasons. Just harder on the Axis and dependent on how much terrain they take in the clear and snow turns as stated in the instructions. This is a good scenario for two new players to play and switch sides.
