Liberation of Leningrad 44 (Lost Battles)
13 January 1944 to 19 April 1944

Historical Overview:
A stripped and relatively static Army Group North faces an onslaught offensive by three Soviet Fronts. The Soviets mean to end the German thereat from Leningrad once and for all. An orderly retreat to the newly constructed Panther Line is the Germans only hope to escape encirclement.

Scenario Overview:
The initial objective of the Leningrad-Novogorod strategic offensive was to open up the Leningrad-Moscow rail line and eject the Germans from threatening the city again. The breaking of the siege ended the 900 day blockade and years of tremendous suffering. The Soviets, without adequate motorized forces, were unsuccessful in preventing the Germans from withdrawing to the Panther Line.
