A good introduction to the action unfolding in the second installment - the Battle of Hoa Hoi pt. II
The loss of a US helicopter can swing the game one way or the other. I lost a gunship, so retreated all the helicopters out of HMG range. My troopers held the only objective to give me a draw, but most of the game was a stalemate.

Don't let the choppers hover. The VC 12.7mm seemed to have more success than barrages of Chopper rocket and 7.62 fire, go figure. However losing a fully laden chopper early cost.
Typical of what you would expect from an intro battle of Vietnam. Choppers, gunships, and recon, landing in the clear and fighting VC in the forest, good and classic :)
