Hitler's aim of transforming the Balkans into a satellite by peaceful diplomacy was shattered by Mussolini's unprovoked invasion of Greece from Albania. Mussolini, whose role in the fall of France had been no cause for celebration, sought glory with a military triumph of his own. Mistakenly, he believed Greece would collapse when attacked.

Much to his surprise, the Greeks fought back with a vengence. By early December over 5000 Italians had surrendered, and thousands of others were streaming North away from Greece.

This scenario seeks to depict how the Greeks, supported by British aircraft, harried the retreating Italians, as they pushed north along a mountain highway on the way toward the Albanian capital, Tirana. It's titled "Rolfte-Duce-Fa" which means 'God bless the Duce!' Both the Italian and Greek soldiers and airmen probably had something else to say about Mussolini at this time!
