Horror at Hagenau - The Matrix Games version of West Front

As the war was winding down the 501st Airborne found themselves defending the southern half of the town of Hagenau about 30 miles across the German border in the Elsas region of France. With the cold of winter and light snow on the ground both sides were tired and lacked the motivation to capture the others holdings. Most of the action was nightime prisoner captures via the 501st units crossing the lightly frozen river in rafts. With Patton's armor units on the move the order was given to cature a remaining bridge before German units could blow it and to take the northern part of the town. Although a night offensive was planned a full moon on snow did little to hide the allies.
