H2H [Battles in the North Tournament] In order to protect the valuable iron ore shipments from Sweden Hitler orders the "occupation" of Norway. The Wehrmacht plans called for quickly capturing airfields and ports in order to rapidly bring in more reinforcements for further operations to the North. If resistence was met, or France and/or Britain intervened, the airfields would be critical bases from which to sortie bombers and recon. Task force ships were assigned to leafrog up the coast of Norway. The port at Stavanger, along with the nearby airfield at Sola, would be strategic points to capture and hold. Some airborne assets were to take the airfield and secure it for incoming transports. Other airborne assets were assigned to cover the southern portion of Stavanger itself. A regiment of the 69th Infantry Division were to assault the city with the support of the Paras and a couple of destroyers. If the Germans could quickly take Kristianstad armored forces would be sent to help the Paras. The remainder of the the task force was to move on to capture the important railhead and base at Bergen. Then on to Trondheim, and Narvik. The port at Stavanger and the airfield at Sola were key supports for further missions to the north. The Norwegian Third Military District was stretched thin in the Stavanger area but, the vital bases on the southwest coast were known to be targets for the Germans and had to be covered with all available troops. Mobilization of Norwegian troops were going nicely in the district. But, it was yet to be seen if the Norwegian soldiers were ready to fight against a modern "lightning" force that attacked across land, sea, and from the air.

Didn't think I had a chance as the Vikings but..
Scorched Earth
A very tough game for the axis.
Crossroads
Interesting little scenario on Norway.

Aggressive, probing axis advance should be tough to stop. If allies can concentrate forces and delay/blunt axis thrusts they can keep them off objectives long enough to win. A fun, interesting scenario.

The Germans have moments when they are vulnerable, like when the parachutists land, when they are loaded in boats, and when they are on motorcycles.

As the Allies, this scenario is very challenging. I found it very entertaining.
