Hypothetical [Best played against Human opponent] Sensing the weakness of German forces at Stavelot General Hodges orders the 30th Infantry Division to retake the Town. By the afternoon of the 19th Stavelot was retaken by the 117th Infantry Regiment. Peiper receiving the report of the US Army's action responds immediately with orders for KG Knittel and Sandig to recapture Stavelot and reopen his supply route. Historically Peiper then shoves his troops West where he finally end his adventure in the La Gleize sector. What if Peiper instead, realizing the importance and threat to his communications and supply turns his force also towards the battered town. The three Kampfgruppen were now converging on the 117th but, they were not alone as CCB 3rd Armored Divsion was approaching from the Northwest and Elements of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment from the South. In the midmorning hours of the 20th a new meaning to survival was about to take place.
