Evacuation of Noville - The Matrix Games version of West Front

Market-Garden was an ill-advised operation, and no matter how well or poorly we would have done, its fate was sealed before the first shot. You may have caught some scuttlebutt about a big German offensive, and that will explain why we've been ordered to Bastogne, Belgium. The breakthrough in this area is pretty big, and the Germans are moving westward at speed. Bastogne is a major road hub, and word is the Krauts want it bad. If we can hold it, we can play hell with their timetable. Yesterday, the 1st Battalion occupied to Noville (north of Bastogne)in support of Team Desobry, 10th Armored. Word is they've taken a pretty hard licking from the 2nd Panzer Division and we're going to pull them out. Your orders are to move your battalion north to cover the withdrawal. Stay to the east of the Noville-Bastogne road. 3rd Battalion will be on the left side. The conditions are pretty lousy. It's foggy and the ground is really muddy.
