Debut of the Foreign Legion - The Matrix Games version of West Front

Bjerkvik, 25km N of Narvik, Norway (H2H - Battles in the North Tournament)(Revised ver.2.2 - JAN 2009). In May the Allies were still kept far away from Narvik by Gen. Dietl's Gebirgsjagers. After bloody fighting at Gratangen Ridge, Norwegian forces were breaking through to the south. British, French and Polish troops had already landed in Harstad and Tromso but it was still too soon and too far away to launch a direct attack at Narvik. But the Allies were running out of time! Especially since they were threatened by Gen Feuerstein's rescue operation launched from the central Norway. To ease the situation, Gen.Berthouart was intent on building a base closer to Narvik and to link up with Norwegian troops marching in from the north. The 13th Foreign Legion halfbrigade started its first mission in that war... a surprise amphibious operation.
