[Hamich, east of Aachen]:[H2H]:[HIS]:[BB]: After heavy fighting on november 18 1944, the US 16th Regiment had managed to capture both the village of Hamich and Hill 232, the feature that had served the German artillery observers so well during the previous days. It didn't take long before the Germans responded. That same night they launched a counterattack to retake the village and the hill. Armor and Panzergrenadiere of Kampfgruppe Bayer assisted by Volksgrenadiers of the 47th Division raced towards Hamich and wretched the village from the stunned Americans. Their succes however was shortlived, the next day the Americans took back what they had lost. [note: both sides have units that are fixed for the duration of the game, just to represent the frontline on the flanks]

A very tense night battle. The Allied player has little to work with, and the VP hexes are all in the front line. I really enjoyed it.

Time is not the friend of the Germans. Germans could use 1 or 2 more artillery batteries instead of just 81mm mortars.
Good tank and infantry mix. Fixed units add a bit of "What if" to the scenario giving it some fog of war.
