With the arrival of fresh troops, including the first Tigers of s.Pz.Abt.501, Panzerarmee Afrika decided to conduct a series of spoiling attacks in order to keep the Allies off balance. A plan was devised for a three pronged attack towards Tebourba. The Tigers were allotted to the kamfgruppe wich was to strike from the west. In front of them lay the troops of 'Blade Force'. And they had orders to secure Chouigui Pass against such a move!
