Matrix PBEM Scenario: By early January of 42' the Dutch garrison at Ambon, in the Molucco Archipelago had been reinforced with additional aircracft and the Australian troops of 2/21 "Gull Force". With a battery of heavy artillery emplaced with concrete at Bennet, mines floating out in the Bay of Ambon and underground telephone lines laid between Laha airfield and Paso, the KNIL defenders prepared for the worst. The "worst" came in the form of a stealthy nightime landing by forces of the IJA "Nihon Rikugun" 228th Infantry Regiment and the Kure 1st SNLF. With the fog at dawn, the invasion had begun. Rev. 2.1

Very interesting battle, however I'm affraid a bit too easy for Japs. If Axis played finds particular course of action, Allies are doomed.

I love this scenario. Action, excitement and tension starting on turn one till the last turn. Both sides have a fair chance of winning. A very cool scenario on a virtually unknown backwater Pacific Island. The Dutch and a contingent of British Army regulars have to hold this small island against an onslaught of angry elite Japanese.
