Iwo Jima Island (Best played by either side.): D+6. With the arrival of the rest of the 3rd Marine Division the day before (except for the 3rd Marine Regiment which is being held as floating reserve), the Marines are now at their maximum strength and were ready to push onto the plateau on the northern half of the island. They already captured the southern tips of the plateau in the 4th and 5th Matine Division sectors and the 3rd Marine Division had captured themiddle of Airfield #2. But the Japaenese main line of resistance still lay ahead and Japanese were ready to give the Marines a very warm reception.
