Kota Bharu, Malaya: They knew it was coming, but where? Shortly after midnight, in the early hours of 8 December 1941 (7 December Pearl Harbor time), 70 minutes before the planned surprise attack on Hawaii, and simultaneous with associated landings at Singora and Patani up the peninsula in Thailand, the Japanese begin hostilities against the Western Powers in the Pacific on the beach at Kota Bharu, Malaya, after having, earlier, shot down a snooping British Catalina. The Commonwealth troops on the beach are ready and have been for some days, however their situation is desperate. "Operation Matador" should contain the landings in Thailand, so the Japanese must be thrown back into the sea, here, or the backdoor to Singapore is thrown open.

An abundance of Japanese troops and plenty of time, mean the Allies will have a hard time with this one.

it was not a typical scenario.. the units were all 2 sp and it took advantage of the random assaults rule.

Unfortunately this is not a good scenario. All units only have a strength of 1 or 2 except for trucks which have a strength of 6. The bulk of the British forces are fixed and all of the many trucks are fixed for the duration. They can't even move to exit the map which makes them easy pickings for the Japanese and a huge number of points. I had the British and luckily for me Hawk Kriegsman was a real gentleman and didn't count the truck losses. That's why we got a Draw instead of a British Major Loss.
