* Wikings in the Carpathians 1945 [Pilisszentkereszt, Hungary] [H2H] [HISB] [ALL: N EFOW:N VV] [Suitable for 2V2 team play]

In the late stages of the war the 5th SS Wiking and elements of the 2nd SS Totenkopf were tasked with the relief of Budapest and the surrounded Germans within. Up against their old foes the 4th Guards Army once again, this would prove the last action they took as an effective division.

Scenario Hypotheticals:

1. The 4th Guards moved into blocking positions earlier, forcing the fight into the mountains north of Pilissentkereszt.

2. The Wikings delayed until elements of the 2nd SS were in position to allow for a single coordinated massed assault rather than the three separate and disjointed operations as Konrad I/II/III happened historically.

Gentlemen: This scenario is available for play, it's a fun one if you like armor and late war variants. The hook here is you have two modern mechanized forces trying to fight in difficult mountain terrain. I have worked on this one on and off for several years now and I think it's just about ready for prime time.

Anyone who would like to play please contact me at [email protected] and I may be able to help arrange matchups.

Difficult to rate your own scenario. I believe it has potential and a later revision will be issued, but I like where it's at now, if you're looking for a challenge, you may find this scenario amenable.
