Setback at Mlawa - The Matrix Games version of East Front II

Mlawa, Poland: As German Detachment Kempf struck south into Poland, from East Prussia, its route toward Warsaw brought it through the town of Mlawa, northwest of Warsaw. SS Deutschland Regiment was part of the Kempf Detachment and on the first days of the invasion, although taking some casualties while storming the towns of Dviersnis and Zavadoski, the going had been relatively easy. On the 4th of September as they pushed on toward Warsaw they came upon the Polish fortified line just north of Mlawa. An infantry attack in the morning was rudely repulsed and in the afternoon 1st Battalion, 7th Panzer Regiment was assigned to help the SS troops break through the Polish defenses. In the afternoon the Germans renewed their attack.
