Smolensk, Russia: [Best Played vs Human Opponent or as Team Game]: The 137. Infantry Division had taken up a screening position to the north of Smolensk. Their orders: to protect the city from counterattack. In a last gasp to take the city, General Yeremenko ordered an attack into the northern sector of the city. The attack was launched at 14:00 on July 26th with a preliminary artillery bombardment. Infantry and KV tanks attacked and the outposts of the German line crumbled. By early evening Guderian received a message that the Russians had breeched the line north of Smolensk. [2.04 UPDATE]
