Charge of the 1st Mech Division - The Matrix Games version of East Front II

Yelnia, Russia: [Best Played vs Human Opponent]: On July 19th, the town of Yelnia fell to the 10. Panzer Division. For the following few days, elements of the Division had pushed further, capturing some heavily fortified positions in the hills to the east. The Russians counterattacked ceaselessly all areas held by the 10. Panzer and SS Das Reich Divisions as they began to form what was later referred to as the Yelnia Bulge. Elements of the 86. Motorized Infantry Regiment, 10. Panzer Division supported by anti-tank guns, were licking their wounds and preparing the newly captured positions for defence in the early hours of July 23rd. With armour support limited and artillery ammunition running slim due to overextended and unprotected supply lines; they knew the coming battle would be bitter. The sounds of artillery firing and tanks rumbling and squeaking as they crawled forward alerted the men of their coming fate. Lead elements of the Russian 1st Mechanized Division were coming to take the positions back. [2.04 UPDATE]
