East of Vyazma, 180 Kms west of Moscow: [Man:man or German] This is a classic German blitzkrieg operation. The Germans are engaging the Soviet defenders at Vyazma. Lead elements of the 10.Panzer Division has bypassed Vyazma to the south and is now Southeast of the city!
It's orders are to drive northward, cutting off lines of reinforcements and supply to
the city and create a path for the main body of the Division to follow up by securing
a south - north line free of enemy control.
The Russian 119.Rifles Division is there, reorganizing after heavy fighting near Vyazma. It must hold the east - west road to Vyazma. This is an adaptation of the Avalon Hill classic PanzerBlitz Situation #3.
