Hypothetical Scenario - As the German blitzkrieg swarmed through Russia, it was apparent the Russian tankers had much to learn. In early battles, the armored forces were thrown in piecemeal and were quickly picked apart by superior German tactics. As time progressed, the Russians caught on. On the 12th of September, the 97th Tank Brigade was sent in force to meet the advancing 12th Panzer Divison. It would be one of the first real tests of the Panzers against superior armor and numbers!

Armor heavy engagement in tight terrain. I'm not really into that, hence the 2 star rating.

played this one before as allies and it was fun. It´s also great to play the germans

Despite my victory, the scenario feels slightly tilted in favor of the allies. The get huge numbers of tanks. Many of them are light tanks, but they get 6 platoons of T-34's, 2 platoons of KV-1's, a KV-2, and about 6 platoons of T-28's, in addition to too many light tanks (BT-7's and the horrible T-26's) to even count. Artillery is light on both sides. I won primary through attrition, but my backfield 'hail mary pass' was a good source of points. It's very important at the outset of the game for both sides to rush to the opposite side of the map until contact is made, as the map is empty at the outset.
Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.

Restrictive terrain and lack of Russian infantry severely limits Allied offensive options. Battles dissolved into armor "slug fests" with few infantry assets to follow-up and capture VPs. Not my cup of tea.

Stopping a horde of Russian tanks on the attack is the order of the day for the Germans. Concentration of force at key river crossing points is paramount for the Germans. Interesting design lets both players see a myriad of Russian armor not usually seen in other scenarios.
