6 July, 1941
[Best Played Against Human Opponent] At 0500 on the morning of July 6th, the Soviet 5th and 7th Mech. Corps launched an attack from the area south of Vitebsk, that landed squarley on the 7th and 17th Panzer Divisions. The objective of the attack was unclear, but it appeared to be designed to cut-offadvanced elements of the 3rd and 2nd Panzer Corps. The attack succeeded and penetrated German lines in several places, and began the Russian began pushing brigade sized units west. Near the town of Senno, the German 7. Panzer Div. counter-attacked to stop one of the penetrations. The battle that ensued was one of those rare occasions that rarley happens in modern combat; a meeting engagement. (TOP Conversion)
