Description: Early on in the fighting for Breslau 1945 the Soviets established two bridgeheads over the Oder river near Peiskerwitz on the west-north-west side and a smaller one near Wasserborn on the east-south-east side.*

Hauptmann Eberhard Seiffert in charge of a German headquarters responsible for establishing fortifications on the south side of Breslau was given the task of organising a counter-attack on the Wasserborn bridgehead. The attack went in on the night of February 3, 1945.*
