The bocage and slow speed of the UK armour makes this almost impossible for the UK player if playing any sort of competent opponent. Even the large amount of UK arty cannot shift the SS if handled well. Not really balanced for PBEM.

To note is we play with special rules: tanks cannot cross bocage without a gap, artillery restrictions, no infantry popping smoke, no tank stacking, very limited z fire. I think without these rules the UK player can cross the bocage where needed and will have an easier time, but with our restrictions it was a UK slaughter. Actual result was German medium win (UK 3 flags, 2741//Ger 16 flags, 5008).

With these rules I was limited to the two roads which defiled into the towns, or hill 112 which was covered in mine fields, very though sledding.
