Description: A mechanized battalion from the Bulgarian 2nd Mechanized Brigade has taken up defensive positions in the town of Elhovo to prevent the Turks from breaking out into the open. However, Turkish reconnaissance elements have found a gap in the Bulgarian lines and a battlegroup from their 55th Mechanized Brigade passed through this gap and is now poised to attack Elhovo from the rear while tanks keep the defenders' attention focused in the south. Although the Turks are under strength due to losses suffered in the Bulgarian ambush along Route 7, they are still much stronger than the defenders.*
