Scenario Briefing: 1st Mountain Division was unable to seize Lwow in its hasty assault on September 12th. With the arrival of Polish reinforcements, Von Kubler decided not to assault the city directly but instead to encircle it in preparation for a siege. A series of back-and-forth battles ensued on the northern edge of the city, centered around the rail yards, the Janowski Cemetery, and the heights overlooking Zboiska. The combat on the outskirts of Lwow on September 13-14th was particularly brutal and resulted in high casualties on both sides.

As the battle raged around Lwow, Polish forces retreated eastward from the San. The still battle worthy 11th and 38th Infantry divisions moved along the Przemysl-Lwow road, evicting a German motorcycle company from Sadowa-Wisznia late on September 13th. By the morning of September 15th, both divisions had gathered around Sadowa-Wisznia and prepared to attack 1st Mountain Division's rearguard. 97th Infantry Regiment was to make a secondary attack toward Grodek-Jagellionski while the rest of the Polish forces advanced across the countryside south of Jaworow toward the Janow Forest. From there, they could link up with the Zolkiew Group and operate against the German forces at Lwow from the northwest. Though 1st Mountain Division's rearguard was threadbare and vulnerable to attack, the Poles would have to operate quickly. The German 14th Army had now crossed the San in force and was in pursuit.

Recommended Rules: (Default)
Alternative Assault Resolution, Artillery Set Up, Recon Spotting, Virtual Supply Trucks, Optional Surrender, Low Visibility Air Effects, Quality Fatigue Modifier, Counter Battery Fire, Night Fatigue, Programmed Weather.

Additionally, Delayed Disruption Reporting will provide a more challenging experience for the attacking player.

Design Notes: 1. The victory conditions are set such that players start with a draw. The Polish player can win by capturing objective hexes in the Janow Forest and around the perimeter of Lwow. The German player can win by destroying a large portion of the Polish force.
