Intended for play as Axis Human vs Allied AI or Head to Head
Scenario Briefing: Rather than pursue the defeated elements of the Modlin Army to the Vistula and fall on Warsaw from the north, Von Küchler's 3rd Army pivoted to the east. Approaching the Narew, Von Küchler's task was to push across the river and advance deep into the heart of Poland.
Having lost the border, the Polish command scrambled to establish a defense on the Narew. Operational Group Wyszkow, consisting of just two infantry divisions and a battered cavalry brigade, was tasked with defending a 70 km stretch of the river from south of Pultusk to north of Rozan. 41st Infantry Division, a reserve formation under Brigadier General Waclaw Piekarski, arrived in the Rozan sector in force on September 4th. Two battalions of 115th Infantry Regiment held a bridgehead on the west side of the Narew. Anchored by a system of World War I-era Russian forts, the position had been improved pre-war with the construction of additional bunkers and field fortifications. Though the bridgehead was strong, its unfortified flanks were weak and held by a battalion each from the 114th and 116th infantry regiments. The bulk of the division remained in reserve.
On the morning of September 5th, the advance guard of Panzer Division Kempf and 1st Cavalry Brigade pushed through Polish outposts toward the fortified bridgehead. After an unsupported abortive attack by the cavalry, the Germans prepared to renew the attack with tanks, infantry, artillery, and air support. The reservists of the 41st Infantry Division were prepared to provide a spirited defense, but as the Germans continued to concentrate on their front the Rozan position would become increasingly untenable.
Recommended Rules: (Default)
Alternative Assault Resolution, Artillery Set Up, Recon Spotting, Virtual Supply Trucks, Optional Surrender, Low Visibility Air Effects, Quality Fatigue Modifier, Counter Battery Fire, Night Fatigue, Programmed Weather.
Additionally, Delayed Disruption Reporting will provide a more challenging experience for the attacking player.
