Intended for play as Axis Human vs Allied AI or Head to Head
Scenario Briefing: General Wladyslaw Bortnowski was given the unenviable task of defending Pomerania (Pomorze) and the southern portion of the Polish Corridor. This narrow strip of land stretched to the sea and separated East Prussia from the rest of Germany. Surrounded by German territory on two sides, Pomerania faced invasion from the west and the east. 9th and 15th infantry divisions faced west, guarding the approaches to Bydgoszcz, Koronowo, and Tuchola. Grouped under the command of Mikolaj Boltuc, the 4th and 16th Infantry divisions were deployed east of the Vistula and were to contest any advance out of East Prussia. 27th Infantry Division, previously earmarked to intervene in the event of a limited German action at Danzig, was held in reserve.
Bortnowski's Army Pomorze was vastly outnumbered. 9th and 15th Infantry Divisions would be confronted by six divisions of Günther von Kluge's 4th Army. Led by 3rd Panzer Division, Kluge's forces were to smash through the thinly spread Polish defenses and seize the Vistula bridges at Chelmno and Grudziadz. Advancing out of East Prussia, Nikolaus von Falkenhorst's XXI Corps would descend on Grudziadz from the northeast. Outnumbered and facing invasion from multiple directions, Army Pomorze's mission was inherently sacrificial. The Polish Corridor could not be saved, but the Poles would not cede it to the invader without a fight.
Recommended Rules: (Default)
Alternative Assault Resolution, Artillery Set Up, Recon Spotting, Virtual Supply Trucks, Optional Surrender, Low Visibility Air Effects, Quality Fatigue Modifier, Counter Battery Fire, Night Fatigue, Programmed Weather.
Additionally, Delayed Disruption Reporting will provide a more challenging experience for the attacking player.
Design Notes:
1. The valuable objective at Torun is not needed for a German victory, but will likely guarantee that the German player will win if captured.
