Designer Notes: This scenario describes the first Soviet attempt to capture Lebedin, from the German perspective.

Scenario Briefing: General Vatutin planned an attack on Lebedin by the 40th Army of Moskalenko, in an effort to force through PzAOK.4’s defenses. The main attack was carried out by the 52nd Army Corps occupying the northern part of the 40th Army's front with the help of the 232nd Rifle Division of the 38th Army. To support the attack, Vatutin reinforced the 52nd Rifle Corps with the 23rd Rifle Division which was transferred from the newly arrived 47th Army. Not all was good news for Moskalenko, as he lost control of the 10th Tank Corps to General Korzum’s 47th Army. The 42nd Rifle Corps had to defend the sector south of Boromlya with the 206th and 100th Rifle Divisions.
