Designer Notes: This scenario simulates the first days of the Soviet 40th Army's offensive. Do NOT choose the Programmed Weather Rule.
Scenario Briefing: The mission of General Moskalenko's 40th Army was to break through the German lines in the Vysokii area. Its main task was to secure the operations of the 6th Guards Army and the 27th Army for control of the Tomarovka-Borisovka area. Once its objectives were achieved, it was to develop its offensive towards Boromlya, while the 27th Army was to develop its offensive towards Akhtyrka. The main thrust was to be made by the 40th Army's shock group, consisting of the 47th Rifle Corps (206th Rifle Division and 163rd Rifle Division) and the 2nd Tank Corps, whose mission was to secure the 27th Army's right flank by taking the important objective of Dorogoshch.
