Scenario Briefing: This scenario variant gives both players a wider choice of setup options.
For the Axis player the setup of the armored divisions that historically attacked the Allies north of Zhitomir can vary according to their choice. They can go with the historical choice or choose two other options for setup to include an attempt to retake Fastov or to conduct an attack directly on Kiev from the south. Note: the 20th Panzer Grenadier Division will remain near Zhitomir as a mobile reserve OR can be used as a deception to convince the Allied player that the main thrust is coming from that direction.
For the Allied player: they will have several choices of where their reserves are initially placed to counter the Axis threat. The formations affected are the 11th, 22nd and 74th Rifle Corps.
This should result in a scenario that has a wide range of variation and probably will played over and over again as well.
