Scenario Briefing: Historically, the Germans placed their main effort in their attacks on Zhitomir and Brusilov for the offensive of the 15th of November. The SS Das Reich Division would be pulled out of the line and sent west to aid with the attack on Brusilov. This took up valuable time and allowed the Russians to allocate the 6th Guards Tank Corps to help with the defenses of Brusilov.

What if the Germans had committed the 25th and SS "Das Reich" Panzer Divisions to perform a diversion intended to keep the Russian reserves from moving to help their comrades to the west? This three-day scenario allows the players to see how such an attack could have turned out.

The 6th Guards Tank Corps has a Strategy option to arrive or it can be left off of the map. If they accept the formation as a reinforcement add in one victory level to the overall victory outcome (i.e. an Axis Minor Victory becomes an Axis Major Victory). If they choose to not commit any forces at all then no additional victory level is added in the Axis Player's favor.

Thus the Russians will have to choose whether they will commit the 6th Guards Tank Corps to the fight or have it march to the west (meaning leave it out of play) and reinforce the forces around Brusilov.
