Sbiba, N of Sidi bou Zid, Feb 19th 1943:
After stunning success' at Sidi bou Zid and Sbeitla, for some reason the Axis waited until Feb 19th to resume their attacks. The 21.Pz Div moved north towards Sbiba between 8 and 9 AM. The advance was uneventful until they reached a string of mines roughly 10 Kms south of the town. They cleared a path and continued on, but they ran into more mines this time backed by dug-in infantry. For the better part of the day they pushed at the defenses, the next day they tried to move round them to the east. [Size, medium]
