The Historical Grand Scenario for the Battle of the Bulge. On December 16th, 1944, Hitler launched his last major offensive in the west. Having secretly assembled a large army in the dense woods of the Ardennes, he hoped to punch through the lightly defended sector and race to the Meuse River. This could drive a wedge between the Allied armies on the continent. The offensive was doomed by a combination of unexpectedly stiff resistance, a strong Allied response, a tenuous German supply situation, and mainly an overambitious plan. Still, had the plan succeeded, it could have greatly altered the outcome of the war. [size huge] Editor's notes: This scenario was altered to allow German and SS panzer and panzer grenadier division as well as corps and army level pioneers to breakdown into companies. This allows more flexibility but still restricts other lower quality axis divisions.

Slighty because i never play Allies. Scenario is very climatic and I love this game. However germans tend to be slightly stronger than in reality. Also player omnipotence greatly facilitates dealing with historical problems on the offensive.

Too Unbalanced

Corp command is very important

tough to play as German. Can't make mistakes.

The Germans have no chance due to terrain and hindsight; simply no way to replicate the surprise that is achieved unless the Allied player plays REALLY poorly. Still a lot of fun though, thus the 7 despite the imbalance.

The Germans really do lack any chance. I suggest focusing all your PZ and PZgr forces in one sector, with clear objectives (center of map), then use your VG in depth to hold the flanks. Force the Americans to give up land or risk a flank collapsing, you will not win in a head on contest with the US.
