Mius River Area: 30km North of Rostov on the Southern part of the Russian Front, 17 July, 1943: This is an alternative version of the historical campaign that features the early arrival of the II SS Panzer Korps. They began arriving in the area on the 27th of July only to find a thin grey line of "walking dead" was all that stood the way of the next Soviet advance. This scenario will examine what effect that an early arrival of the SS divisions would have had in the battle.

We agreed the SS should be held as a defense only option as they were not historically involved but wanted the option of using them if attacked. As it happened the regular Axis were ruined and the SS became the brick wall. A major victory, yes, but a free SS (they did get used) is a terrible thing to see (if you're a Russian).

Without some scenario upgrades, the German
Player has a difficult time.

Cannot build trenches deep enough and bunkers are very weak.

Russian Artillery is the killer. The 23rd Panzer and the 16th Motorized stabilized the line for a short time before being overwhelmed by fire.

Russian supply status decrease should occur earlier in the scenario to diminish the Russian artillery.
