Bir el-Gubi, south of Tobruk: November 19th, 1941. (Scenario Size: Division-. Head to Head or British Human vs AI) The British 8th Army launched Operation Crusader on November 18th, hoping to draw the German Afrika Korps into battle with their concentrated armor. Rommel, focused on his attack on Tobruk scheduled in the near future, believed the move was a feint to draw his units away from the Tobruk. He ignored the British Commonwealth movements. As a result, the British changed their plan and sent their armor brigades in different directions. The 22nd Armored Brigade Group was sent west to defeat the Italians holding Bir el-Gubi, threatening their western flank as they pushed toward Tobruk. This led to a clash in the desert, with the British having little infantry and artillery support against the Italian Ariete division. The British forces are inexperienced and new to the desert, while the Italians have implemented some reforms in reaction to their earlier disasters in the desert.

It's quite entertaining because it does a very good job at showing just what went very badly wrong here for the British, but that also means the balance is off.

Opportunity fire from the Italian heavy AA/AT guns is too much for the Crusaders to handle.

Maybe a draw is possible if the Allies get lucky, but it's a very hard scenario for them.

Very challenging scenario as the British. Start the attack as soon as possible, time is limited. Expect many casualties as you engage the Italian Armor and AT Guns. Air support is excellent and plentiful, but prone to interception and combat losses. Artillery support is minimal, as is Infantry support. Judicious use of your limited Infantry support is critical. Commit your Infantry selectively to achieve the most gain with minimal losses.

I totally agree regarding the Italian Heavy AA/AT Guns, they are very effective and have excellent range. I tried in vain to neutralize them with Air Strikes and Artillery Bombardment with 25 pdrs. They were the bane of my existence throughout the entire scenario.
