Germany, 10 June 1985: The Cold War has been heating up. The Warsaw Pact has mobilized and demobilized many times over the past three years. NATO has matched each mobilization with full mobilization of its member's armed forces. The last two times that the Warsaw Pact mobilized, NATO only deployed its active duty units to their defensive positions. The reserves were alerted for call-up, but they were not activated. And, US REFORGER units were alerted, but not deployed. Mobilizing forces is an expense that the West is not prepared to make when they perceive that it is not necessary. You might say, that the democracies were tired of the boy crying wolf. However, this is exactly what the Soviet Union was waiting for. This time it is WAR! [Human versus Human play is recommended.]
