P'yeongtaek region, 25 miles south of Seoul, July 19th 1985 [D+34]: As the Chinese mechanized
forces bypassed Seoul they were started to encounter a force of veterans from the war in Europe.
The 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment arrived in Pusan as the first elements of the US VII Corps by
leaving their equipment behind in Germany and issued war stock from around the world and newly
manufactured equipment from the United States. The Regiment was to become a thorn in the side of
the advance of the Chinese 39th Mechanized Army and was to again prove that they are always
ready. [Size: medium] Designer's notes: The Chinese Type 80 tank was released to the press in
1987. It is widely speculated that this tank was in limited service prior to this so it has been included
in small numbers in the Chinese elite 1st Tank Division in the Beijing Assault Force. Because of the
Type 80's infancy in this operation it is prone to maintenance failures.
