P'yongchang area, June 29th 1985 [D+14]: As the allied counter offensive began on the morning of the 29th of June, the situation in the Taebaek mountains around Ha-Chinbu-ri was fragile. The NKPA had advanced to within seven miles of that city, threatening to break through the allied front line and continue towards the eastern coast to isolate allied forces around Sokch'o.
