Nechaevka, North of Belgorod: July 6th, 1943. (Scenario Size: Division. German Human vs Soviet AI or Head to Head) SS-Gruppenführer Walter Krüger, Commander 2nd SS Das Reich Panzer Grenadier Division was tasked to move North East before attempting to breach the Soviet second line at Nechaevka. This meant clearing the Soviet makeshift defences around Smorodino and securing the road running north to Nechaevka and beyond to Luchki South. With a clear breach Das Reich's Panzergruppe consisting of both its Panzer Regiment and SPW Battalion were to exploit to the north. Reports of Soviet armor massing on the east bank of the Donets were acknowledged, but II SS Panzer Korp ordered Krüger to push northwards with all haste and leave any flanking Soviets to 3rd SS Totenkopf Panzer Grenadier Division that was expected to arrive late in the PM. The arriving Soviets were the vanguards of both 2nd and 5th Guards Tank Corp and they were to be sucked into the maelstrom by the end of the afternoon.

An interesting scenario with a lot of different approaches and decisions for both players. Think it has quite some replay durability and is quite fun for both attacker and defender.

As is true of most of the scenarios in this title, it is more fun to play as the Germans than it is as the Russians.

A good battle, had fun. It seems very tough for the Germans to push through the second defensive belt to win - but have not played the German side so I don't know how it looks from there.

Tough one for the Germans to win. They have to break through a strong defensive belt and large number of Soviet forces to get a win.

As is the case with many of the Kursk scenarios, it is generally more fun to play as the Germans. But this one has some interesting tactical problems for both sides.
