Fictional Scenario

Recon Platoon, with the assistance of the rest of the battalion landing team have rescued the students at the St. Georges Medical School. As a reward, they have been ordered to reconnoiter the hills surrounding the capital of the island, St. George's. The Grenadian military has started to collapse, but the Cuban regulars are still full of fight. As Recon Platoon advances into the outskirts of St. George's, the Cubans prepare a surprise.

Like many good works of fiction, this scenario in the movie has a basis in history. One of the SEALs trapped at Government House used the still functioning telephone system to make a collect call his wife in the US. His spouse relayed his request for air support to the to the Special Operations Command and a AC-130 helped keep the Grenadians at bay until the Marines arrived.
