This is a hypothetical version of the #1914_0920_01s_Campaign_East_Prussia campaign scenario which covers the situation of what would have happened if the Germans executed Schlieffen Plan 1905, but historically intervened and sent reinforcements from the Western Front to East Prussia in late August and replaced von Prittwitz with von Hindenberg and Ludendorf. This scenario is identical to the original except that the Germans will start with less strength (although the II.Landwehrkorps will be utilized in place of the XX.Armeekorps), Samsonov's Fate will not be called into question (and thus, the Russians to not receive the 3rd Guard Division nor 1st Rifle Brigade reinforcements), the Victory Point requirement is considerably lower for a German victory and a moderately higher for a Russian victory. Sudden termination condition still exists however, to represent a level of historical emphasis placed on the theater by the Germans. The intent of this scenario is to allow the commanders to explore what might have happened if the Germans executed their 1905 war plan, and how their mission would have changed to a more defensive role until reinforcements arrived.
