The Allies appear to be lacking heavy weapons to suppress the German HMG positions.

Overall, a neat concept and mission for bothh players. However, given the map size and terrain, the US player ends up advancing over nearly open ground for several hundred metres against a couple entrenched MG42s sitting on high ground. Unless the Axis player makes a big mistake placing the MGs, it is little more than a turkey shoot as the MG42's range vastly outclasses anything the US player has. Battle would be much more balanced with the Coy MG det (2 x HMGs & HQ) added to provide an adequate firebase. Ideally, ramp up the forces to platoon of defenders and a Coy attack and this would be a really good battle.

This is more of a small tactical exercise.

Well...I prefer battles with a balance of infantry, armour, and arty with a challenging map full of terrain variety. This battle has none of that, unfortunately. And so, IMO, I found this one rather boring. It was more a "training" mission to me than an actual battle.

Not too much for the defender to do other than keep his eyes peeled for enemy movement. But still entertaining trying to hold both hills.
Tough mission for the GI's
