HISTORICAL BACKGROUND Polish "Poznan" and "Pomorze" armies withdraw to the east, towards Warsaw and the Vistula, marching north of the Bzura river. The German 8th Army moves eastwards along the southern banks of the Bzura. The clash is inevitable and gen. Kutrzeba, commanding the "Poznan" Army decides to strike south hoping to capture the initiative and to gain the operational space instead of getting squeezed at the bottleneck of Sochaczew. In order to continue their retreat, Polish troops should secure the line Leczyca - Ozorkow - Strykow - Glowno - Lowicz - Sochaczew. The action was initiated 9th Sept. at 17:30 by the three divisions from the "Poznan" Army (operations group of gen. Knoll-Kownacki) with cavalry brigades on both wings. Two more divisions from the "Pomorze" Army entered later as the second wave. The Polish offensive threatened the supply lines of the 10th Army engaged at the gates of Warsaw. The 8th Army of gen. von Blaskowitz resisted the attack until the night 12/13 Sept., when gen. Kutrzeba withdrew the K-K group northwards, to strike east at Sochaczew. some abbreviations

Perhaps a little too tilted into the Polish side's favour, but actually only a bit even if so.
