Hill 192, North East of St Lo: July 11th, 1944. (Scenario Size: Brigade. Head to Head or Human vs AI for either side) The 11th of July was the critical day in the St Lo sector. Panzer Lehr had launched their counterattack at le Dezert and though the battle was in the balance it was evident the US line would hold. On the left flank of the Allied position, Hill 192 was the dominant terrain feature. German observers could see all the way to the beaches, exposing all to artillery fire. 2nd Infantry Division was tasked with clearing the hill. The division's first attempt on June 16th had resulted in heavy casualties and little ground taken. After intensive training between the infantry, armour and engineers the July 11th attempt was expected to be more successful.

It can be a great scenario, if there is a chance for the Allied side for a victory or at least a draw. Casualties points, and the victory points locations are the main issues in this scenario.

German ART very strong in beginning which helps keep US forces in check allowing German player to have advantage. After turn 9-10, the German front-line INF forces are shot up and worn down however, by then the US side is out of time to do much about it.

Fun but extremely hard to win as Allies. The VP hexes need to be of a higher value for the Allies to even get close to scoring as the casualty count for the Allies will be very high.
Gen. Montgomery: "Your men don't salute much."
Gen. Freyberg: "Well, if you wave at them they'll usually wave back."

Very Tough for the Allies - Target specific hexs for 155mm/tank fire on consecutive turns, hope to disrupt but try assaulting anyway with full companies. only one recon spotter for the VP hexs so look after it and the engineers as best you can.
As a German player - need to set all/most units to "nil" opportunity fire (unless obviously spotted) and sit tight - use arty and mortars to disrupt/hit engineers and company sized units first.

While an interesting scenario solo, this should never be played H2H or as part of a tournament. The German player can nearly just sit there, lob a few well-place artillery missions each turn, and win. In fact, it is very much to the German's advantage to not do much during his turn, but rather to not draw fire and then shoot up the US player with defensive fire.

A hopeless scenario unwinable as the Allies unless the Axis give the game away.

Being a new I should say that my vote that it is "totally pro axis" may be because lack of proper use of terrain...but both my allied game and axis game with this scenario came out the same...allies really struggle mightily.
Kind Regards,

A hard scenario to play as the US.

Great fun. A very bloody battle. The hills make it super tough for the Allies to capture the improved positions.

As the Axis player, you can honestly win this almost entirely by letting your units just do op fire and then using your artillery.

Should not be used for HtH unless some serious rebalancing is done or you're a sucker for punishment(as Allies)

Very fun battle, very bloody and lots of action and room for maneuvering.

However, the points are way off, and need to be redone to give the Allies any chance at a victory.

as others have noted , this scenario needs attemtion to get it a better rating. I don't think either side enjoy playing it at present.

Too tough for the GI's to make any headway in this game.
