August 30, 1862 6 Turns -------------------[ What If ]--------------------- 3:00pm: Historically, Fitz John Porter decided "not to reinforce failure" by sending in Sykes' division as well as the remainder of Hatch's division - troops that were at his disposal and waiting for his word to advance. What if Porter had sent them in? With this added weight, can the Unionists break the Confederate line along "The Unfinished Railroad"? Additionally, General Steven's might commit more, or all, of his small Federal division instead of just sending in Christ's brigade. On the Confederate side, Featherston's and Pryor's brigades were ordered by General Wilcox to harrass the Federal left flank, but did not get in motion until Porter's attack had been repulsed. Now these brigades might get into the action a little sooner.
