August 29-30, 1862 78 Turns ------------------[ Historical ]----------------- 9:40am: This full, 2-day campaign (August 29-30, 1862) begins after Sigel's I Corps divisions have spent the first few hours of the day maneuvering closer to the Confederates. Prodded by Pope to attack at sunup, Sigel has dispersed his units over a wide arc so as to better develop then enemy's line, hopefully uncovering some weak spots or an "open" flank. Reynolds' division of Pennsylvania Reserves has arrived, and other reinforcements are hurrying toward Groveton as Pope still has high hopes of crushing Jackson before he can get away.
